6. How much notice do you need to come out and take a sample? What is
your cancellation policy? 24 hrs. depending on my patient load for the next day. Cancellation after 12 hrs.before the appt is a $30 fee

7. Can I lie down during the draw if I tend to feel faint? Absolutely. I can also draw your blood while you are lying down

8. What should I do if I become dizzy or nauseated? I will put an ice pack on the back of your neck, and give you something sweet to drink to bring up your glucose levels. Also lying down with the legs elevated will push blood back towards the heart to help

9. How long should I keep pressure on the site afterward?  For a few minutes, but keep the bandage on for at least 15 mins to minimize bruising

10. What should I do if I develop significant bruising, swelling, or pain? Ice Immediately and continue pressure

11. When and how will I receive my results? You will receive the results as normal through your physician.

12. How much does it cost and do you take insurance? I charge a $75 draw fee. If you are farther than 50 miles from me, it is .73 per mile. No Insurance at this time, but this could change.

13. How do you keep everything sterile? I use Aseptic technique and always wear gloves

14. How do you ensure my blood samples are tracked and transported
properly? Blood samples are kept cool, or ambient depending on the instructions. I carry a centrifuge if blood needs to be spun 1st. I also drop off immediately to local labs. Kit draws are usually Fed-X or UPS, and these are taken right away to the drop.

15. Which lab will process my tests? Whatever your choice is. I will hand deliver them.

16. Will it be drawn from my arm? What if you can’t find a good vein? The AC is the 1st choice, but most people know their best vein and I always try to do what the pt prefers. If it’s a difficult draw I always use a Butterfly needle.

17. How long does it take? Usually just a few minutes, just depends on paperwork

18. What areas do you travel to? Do you charge for mileage? I cover S. Idaho, E. Idaho. Mileage is .73 a mile for anything over 50 miles RT

21. What happens if you’re unable to obtain a sample? I will have you hydrate with electrolytes the next day and try again

22. How soon can I get an appointment? Just call, text or email and I will check my schedule.
